Let’s be honest an air mattress is a giant piece of plastic. Not the most eco-friendly or nontoxic thing for your home, but they are a space saver and if you buy one that will last it might be better than a junky mattress that would take up a lot of space in a landfill. And for those of us that live small it can be a great asset for the occasional guest. We scoured the internet looking for the best quality and anything with a hint of care for the environment. We were pleasantly surprised to find the BeyondHOME air mattress. Instead of PVC it uses TPU (and also lists polyester) making it better but still would not make it in our Good rating. As advertised it does not have an odor and is surprising comfortable. If you’re in the market for an air mattress we definitely recommend checking this one out. Our suggestion is to store it in the garage or a closet in a bedroom that you don’t use since it is not nontoxic. This could also be great for the occasional camping trip. We just wouldn’t use it daily due to the toxic off gassing.
